Abstract : In this project, we intend to introduce and study a new pair (f, T) of non-commuting maps in a space X. It consists of a point-valued nonexpansive map and a set-valued nonexpansive map . For such pair of maps, we plan to investigate the existence of a point such that z Î PK(y) and z = fz Î Tz, where PK(y) is the set of best approximations to y Î X from K. Also, we plan to investigate the existence of fixed points for non-self maps of a space X satisfying a generalized inwardness condition.
