Abstract : The objective of study is to seek the effect of tetracycline drug and ginger drink on the developing liver and kidneys of embryos and suckling of albino rats through passing the placental and milk barriers, and limitation the therapeutic capacity of ginger to limit the harmful effects of drug in and pre-pregnancy and breastfeeding at the age of 20 days of pregnancy, and at ages 7,14 and 21 days after delivery. Adult females have been divided into four main groups, a control group, treated groups before pregnancy , treated groups during pregnancy (in a period of 1-7 days of pregnancy (the period of implanting), and the period of 7-14 days of pregnancy (the organization), and a period of 14-21 days of pregnancy (the organic and physiological growing period), along pregnancy period from 1-21 days of pregnancy)) and treated groups during breast feeding (at 1-7 breast feeding period, and from 7-14 days of breast feeding, the period of 14-21 days of breast feeding, and a long period of breast feeding 1-21 days). Such treated groups were fed orally with tetracycline drug or ginger alone or tetracycline and ginger together. the results indicated that tissue changes in the liver and kidneys, The groups most affected by treatment, were the treated group with the drug in a period 7-14 days of pregnancy and two treated groups during 1-7 days of breast feeding, and period of 7-14 days of breast feeding as it appeared to have late growth of liver, congestion, runny lymphocyte and appearance of fatty changes, cytoplasmic degeneration in hepatocytes and swelling with pyknosis, as well as appearance of congestion and delay in kidneys growth which is represented in decreasing the number of mature renal corpuscles with shrinkage or decomposition of glomerulus and cloudy swelling and analyze the external membranes in renal tubules, while most of the treatments with ginger safe in tissues of liver and kidney of embryos and suckling, but when treating with drug and ginger, it led to alleviation of tissue changes in liver and kidneys with exception of congestion. We can conclude from such research that both drugs and ginger are capable of penetrating the placental and milk barriers and that drug has adverse effects on liver and renal tissue embryos and suckling especially in the second period of pregnancy and in the first and second period of feeding. The ginger had limited ability to address those effects, so we recommend pregnant women and breast feeding mothers, as well as women who wish to have children soon, not to be subjected to a tetracycline drug. We also confirm possibility of using ginger as safe therapy during the period of pre- during pregnancy and breast feeding except for the second week of pregnancy and the first week of breast feeding where the dose must be adhered medically and usage in caution.
