King Abdulaziz University, through its Faculty of Arts and Humanities, organized the “Researchers 7” Postgraduate Forum under the patronage of University President Dr. Tareef bin Youssef Alaama, on Monday, 3 November 2025. The two-day event features six academic sessions covering 30 diverse postgraduate research theses.

As a strategic and active partner, the Saudi Geological Survey (SGS) contributed to the forum through both its exhibition booth and its participation in scientific sessions, where several officials presented on key research topics, particularly related to cave studies in the Kingdom.

Prof. Zainy bin Talal Alhazmi, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, noted the forum’s wide-ranging participation from the Faculty and other university faculties. The event featured 30 thesis presentations and an exhibition of 24 scientific posters. Its aim is to support postgraduate students in presenting their work within a rigorous academic environment, while helping them develop research, presentation, and critical thinking skills, gain exposure to interdisciplinary topics, and benefit from various training courses and workshops.

In addition to the academic sessions, the forum featured special events, including a training workshop titled “AI Developments in 2025,” delivered by Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Hassanein from the Faculty of Pharmacy. A panel discussion titled “Exploration and Study of Caves in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia” was also held, moderated by Dr. Nadia Qurban from the Department of History and Archaeology, and presented by Eng. Mahmoud Al-Shanti, Head of the Cave Studies Department at SGS.

Topics explored in the scientific sessions spanned a diverse range of disciplines, including:

            •           Family quality of life, and financial behavior related to saving and consumption

            •           Contemporary challenges in theology and approaches to Arabic grammatical theory

            •           Saudi diplomacy, the knowledge economy, and the transition to smart cities

            •           Social and economic history of the Hijaz region and the early Saudi state

            •           Adult literacy programs, moral and civic education, and the role of universities and the nonprofit sector in promoting sustainable development

            •           Psychological and sociological studies, addressing issues such as emotional trauma, intellectual security, and the integration of modern technologies
